Funeral service for Lavona (Foster) Clark Cahoon, age 78, of Cherokee, will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Kirby officiating. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Red Rock Church of Christ (1845 Red Rock Road, Tuscumbia) from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cahoon, who died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at her residence, was born March 31, 1944, in Alabama to William Owen “Chicken” Foster and Wilma Jean (Tuppin) Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Clark, her parents, and one sister, Marjorie Tinker (Wallace). Mrs. Cahoon was a member of Red Rock Church of Christ, and worked as an accountant for BP Chemicals.
She is survived by Husband, James Cahoon Jr., two daughters, Monica Grimes (Todd) and Michelle Newman (Scott); one stepson, James Cahoon, III (Teresa); two brothers, Owen Daniel “Danny” Foster (Faye) and Richard Foster; five grandchildren, Savannah Newman, Olivia Newman, Alex Newman, Paige Mabe (Austin), and Amie Hankins; two step-grandchildren, Trent Cahoon (Magan) and Dustin Cahoon; and three great-grandchildren, Allyson Mabe, Lydia Cahoon, and Lily Cahoon.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Grissom, Owen Foster, William Foster, Kipp Tinker, Wayne Jones, Trent Cahoon, Dustin Cahoon, John Daniel Grissom Foster, and Austin Mabe.
