Lavada C. Smith, 82, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was born Sept. 5, 1934 to Samuel and Willie Chapman. She was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clarence Riggins; second husband, Robert K. Smith; brothers, Kelly Chapman, Leola Chapman, Dearl Chapman and Wilson Chapman; sister, Zelma Childress. Lavada’s memories will be cherished by her sons, David Riggins (Debbie) and Johnny Smith (Donna); daughter, Angie Smith; grandson, Eric Smith; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 21, 2017, at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with Brother Hugh Bolin officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
