Laurie was born on March 7th, 1961 in Memphis, TN to the late Ralph and Sara Thompson. She attended Evangelical Christian School and later graduated from Shelby State Community College.
Laurie worked for over 25 years as a registered nurse at Midtown Surgery Center in Memphis. In 2014, she decided to retire, allowing herself the opportunity to enjoy the slow-paced life in the country. You could often find her on walks with her beloved pets or listening to music in the comfort of her log cabin.
Naturally compassionate and supportive, she regularly put others first by extending a helping hand to the family, friends and pets she cared for so deeply. Laurie will forever be remembered for her sense of humor and the loving warmth that she gave us.
The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the prayers, support and kindness extended by so many during this difficult time of bereavement.
“Grief never ends, but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love.” – Unknown
