Mrs. LaRue S. CookGraveside funeral services for LaRue Cook are scheduled for 2 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Lexington Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 11 AM – 1:30 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington.
LaRue passed away in Lexington on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She was born May 28, 1930 in Lexington to the late Guilford and Josie Small Sullivan. She was a woman who loved life and enjoyed people in her professional and private life.
She attended both Lexington City School and Lexington High School prior to marrying the love of her life, Jim Cook of Rock Springs, Tennessee on June 26, 1949. They were married for 71 years before he passed away.
She was a long time member, and grew up attending, First Baptist Church in Lexington.
During her career, she worked at several different places, including Salant & Salant, Gibson Brothers Outdoor Power Equipment, Thompson Co., and Cook’s Service Station as a bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Gerldean Primo and her husband, Jim Cook.
Survivors include her two nephews, John Cook & David Robertson and her cousin, Kay Rhodes.
