Larry Wayne Pleasants, 81 of Arab passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at his residence. Larry was born May 1, 1943 in Raleigh, North Carolina, the son of Patrick Pleasants and Ruth Howell Pleasants. He married Burma Nell Smith June 3, 1965. He worked for Brown Engineering and the North Carolina Hwy Department before becoming disabled. He was honorably discharged from the US Army.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Nell Pleasants; daughter: Stephanie (David) Mier; grandchildren: Coy Mier and Maci Mier; brother: Bob Pleasants; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Richard Pleasants.
Celebration of Life service will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the New Brashier’s Chapel Methodist Church with Mike Shirley officiating. Gober Funeral assisted the Pleasants family with cremation arrangements.
