Larry Van Bishop – Obituary

Mr. Larry Van Bishop, age 60 of Trenton, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 14 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The husband of Shirley Jean Bishop, who survives, he was an LPN and worked for an assisted living center in Memphis prior to becoming disabled. He was born July 19, 1953 in Bolivar, to Horace Tisdale Bishop and Sallie Miller Bishop and lived in Mississippi for 18 years and then moved to Trenton, Georgia. Mr. Bishop served in the US Navy and was a Baptist in belief and former member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, whom he married on May 8, 1987, survivors include two sons, Richard Phillip Bishop of Chattanooga and Lawrence Scott Bishop of Jackson; two sisters, Sandra Garrett of Bolivar and Bonnie LeGrand of Galax, VA; two brothers, William Bishop of Bolivar and Nathan B. Bishop of Bolivar; five stepsons, Aaron Powers of Trenton, GA, Grant Williams of Senatobia, MS, Steven Williams of Mississippi, Heath Shade of Memphis and Alan Shade of Southaven, MS; and four grandchildren.
