Larry Sumrall, 82, longtime resident of Cherokee, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. His funeral service will be Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dwight Rivers and Johnny Gwantney officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Sumrall; brothers, J.B. Sumrall, Billy Sumrall; daughters, Melissa Anderson, Melanie Wisdom; and son, Rick Black. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, June Sumrall; son, Larry Black; daughter, Pam James; grandchildren, Heather Quillen, Mollie Wisdom, Emily Oliver, Seth Anderson, Tori Flannigan, Shawn Black, Jamie Black; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Haley, Josie, Ella, Addy, Carter, Micah, Easton, Cooper, Barrett; and pet, Gizmo.
Larry was a member of Pride Baptist Church. He was a retired pipefitter from Reynolds.
Pallbearers will be Larry Black, Ronnie Quillen, Austin Cloud, Steve Anderson, MacKinley Flannigan, and Larry Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Deryl Wisdom and Shawn Black.
