Larry Malone passed away at the age of 81 on September 22, 2023. He was born on December 6, 1941, to the late Charles and May Echols Malone.
On June 14, 1963, Larry married Betty Russom. They shared a beautiful partnership that lasted for many joyful years.
Throughout his life, Mr. Malone served as a dedicated bus driver for an impressive 55 years. He worked diligently for Greyhound, MATA, and Cline Tours, traversing the roads of the lower 48 states. His deep passion for traveling allowed him to witness the beauty and diversity that our country has to offer.
Beyond his career, Larry found great pleasure in supporting his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He also cherished quiet moments watching western films and spending quality time with his daughter Brandi and his beloved granddog Maggie, a chocolate lab who brought immense joy into his life.
In addition to his personal pursuits, Mr. Malone was an active member of Bethel Springs church of Christ. His faith provided him with strength and guidance throughout his journey.
Larry leaves behind a cherished legacy and will forever be remembered by his adoring family. He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Betty Malone of Bethel Springs, TN; two loving daughters: Brandi Malone of Bartlett, TN and Jennifer Simpson of Memphis TN; as well as a beloved son, John Malone of Coldwater, MS.
His memory will live on through three grandchildren: Hunter Kimbrough of Bethel Springs TN, Keith Malone residing in Washington State, and Fallon Malone from Hernando MS; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita McCoy of Caruthersville, MO, and Barbara Bryant of Hernando, MS; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his five brothers: Jack, James (Bud), Joe, Mack, and Evander Malone; as well as his four sisters: Ginny Blankenship, Edna Lux, Sue Crocket, and Peg Averett.
