Larry Lee Glass, at age 67, departed this life as the result of a house fire at his Pontocola home in Lee County. Larry was born in Chicago to the late Red Glass and Janet Crowden Glass Owens, both deceased. He moved with his family at a young age to Decatur, AL, where he grew up and graduated from Decatur High School. Larry, a patriotic American, served a stent of duty during peace time in the U. S. Army. He moved to the Lee County area 25 years ago where he remained until his death. Larry’s working life was primarily spent as an over the road truck driver. In his last years, he was a house painter. A Baptist, he loved the game of pool and was an ace pool shark especially in his growing up years. He had a unique way of sharing wisdom through his life stories.

All services were private to the family. The family found comfort in the words of King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3: 1-12. Condolences may be emailed to hollandfuneraldirectors@comcast.net.

Larry is survived by his only child, his daughter, Jennifer Glass Mason (Leslie) of Decatur, AL; his grandchildren, Chandler Stevenson, Aiden Stevenson, and Kendall Stevenson; his sister, Laura Drake of Decatur, AL; his nieces and nephews, Brandon Drake-Owen, Justine Pruitt, Ashtyn Pruitt, Kadence Bumpus, Skipper Smith, James Linderman, Tony Linderman, Jim Garner, Jason Garner, and Joshua Garner and their families. A special thanks to Ken and Helen Valentine of Pontocola who were close to Larry in his last years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Janet; his sisters, Jackie Garner and Annette Linderman; and his stepfather, Kenneth R. Drake.

Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be serving their friends. (662 840 5000)
