Larry L. Boren Profile Photo Larry Lamar Boren, age 69, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at the North Mississippi Medical Center.  He was born December 1, 1954 in Tupelo, the son of Herrell Jack and Ruby Storms Boren.  He was a 1973 graduate of Mooreville High School where he played football and basketball.  Larry worked in the tire finishing department of Cooper Tire until his retirement in 2008. He had previously attended Oak Hill Community Church.  Larry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Often he could be found drinking coffee and solving the world’s problems with his buddies at North Auburn Grocery. A devoted husband, father, and “Pawpaw”, Larry cherished each moment spent with his family.

He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Carma Lisa Lovett Boren of Saltillo; two children, Larry Andrew “Andy” Boren (Ashley McCord Boren) of Blue Springs and Ashley Jo Boren Lindsey (Josh Lindsey) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Willa Drew Boren and Bodie Mac Boren and Warren Miller Lindsey; brothers-in-law, David Lovett (Lin Lovett) of Murray Kentucky, and Michael Lovett (Patricia Lovett) of Owensboro, Kentucky; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; and special extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herrell Jack and Ruby Boren; brother, Kenneth Boren; sister, Jean Robinson; step-brother, Tim Dickerson; his in-laws, Purdom and Jo Lovett.

Visitation will be 10 until 12 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Pegues, Tupelo.  A private graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Boren, Peyton Boren, Zack Boren, Ben Kingsley, Corey Franks, Tyler Cook, and Justin Cook.  Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Ratliff, John C. Moore, and Ken Houston
