Larry Joe ‘LJ’ Alvis, 68 of Decatur, AL passed away on Monday June 26, 2023.
He was born on February 4, 1955 in Hartselle, AL to the late Jack Virgil Alvis and Alla Bea Burks Alvis.
He was a US Army Veteran and member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ainslie ‘Pete’ Baker Alvis, daughters, Amber Leigh Alvis Orlando (Kevin), Lisa Marie Craig Albright (Joe), Shannon Alvis (Mary Ann) and grand children, Shannon Renee Alvis, Emerson, Conrad, Hadley and Adam Albright, brothers Jimmy Wayne Alvis, sisters, Betty Marie Alvis Freeman and Margaret Lorene Alvis Brown (Johnny) and several nieces and nephews.
LJ is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl Fredrick Alvis, Earnest Leon Alvis, Charles Eugene Alvis, Timothy David Alvis and sister Carolyn Annette Alvis,
Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 1700 Carridale Street SW Decatur, AL at 10:00 with a Celebration of Live Service following at 11:00 with Pastor Gary Nagy officiating.
Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Bethel, Cullman AL.
