Larry Hamby, 72, originally from Mt. Hope. passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at Woodland Village, Cullman, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1:00pm till 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 2,2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery at 3:00pm with Darrell Wright officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Larry was born August 28, 1950 to Arley Hamby and Agnes Adair Crumpton. He loved sitting outside, feeding birds, watching old black and white TV shows. When he was younger, he walked all over Lawrence County. Larry could be seen on Saturday nights dancing at the Honky Tonk! Larry loved his dip and would get mad quick if somebody didn’t bring him a can!
Survivors include his siblings: Carol Hamby Holmes, Becky Crumpton Gray, Kathy Crumpton Leathers, Joel Crumpton (Pam), Terry Crumpton, Shelia Crumpton Ellenburg and Johnny Crumpton, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Arley Hamby and Agnes Adair Crumpton and Earnest Crumpton, his siblings: AL Hamby, Sharon Hamby, Judy Fay Crumpton and Gerald Crumpton.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Crumpton, Walter Ellenburg, Sarah Ellenburg, Gunnar McBee, Rip McBee and Jason Clark.
The family extends special thanks to Woodland Village Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Cullman and Gentiva Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
