Funeral service for Larry E. Maples, 71, will be Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Pope and Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Maples died on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his residence.  He was born July 6, 1951, in Morgan County, to Glenn Oakley Maples and Edith Odessa Parker Maples.

Larry was an avid Alabama Fan and enjoyed going to the “Tider Insider” meetings. He graduated from Morgan County High School, Class of 1969. His grandchildren call him “Grand Larry”. He worked at Monsanto for 16 years before going to work for General Motors where he worked 26 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers:J.T. Maples and Frankie Maples, one sister: Glendell Terry McCaghren, and two nieces: Christina “Sissy” Maples and RobinTerry Ferrell.

Pallbearers will Donnie Reeder, John Reeder, Holden Langston, Ryan Langston, David Langston and Jackson Locklear

Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Wayne Tapscott, Scotty Stinson, Jimmy Legg, Greg Terry, Phil Monk, Jason Maples and Jody Maples.
