Larry Douglas Wilbanks, age 70, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his residence.
Larry was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He loved to travel and enjoyed adventure. He had a loving and hilarious personality. He always loved to pick on people, loved to laugh, and make people around him laugh. His heart was as big as the world and he would do anything for anyone.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Sammy Taylor officiating the service. Burial will be at Old Town Creek Cemetery in Lawrence County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Douglas & Dorthy Wilbanks; five sisters and one brother.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years, Tina Langley Wilbanks; brother, Charles Wilbanks; sister-in-law, Denise Steward (David); brother-in-law, Bruce Langley (Stella); special friends, Nancy & Marshall Moore, Anita & James Woodall; special neighbor, Uthell & Alice Bankston; and several nieces & nephews.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Comfort Care Hospice and to our special nurse, Teresa Holt Thorn for the love and care of Larry. Also a sincere thanks is extended to nieces, Lesha Tidwell and Eva Ann Hill for the countless errands and help offered to the family.
