Larry Donehoo, 83, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday. He was born in Spaulding County and grew up in Griffin, Georgia. Larry graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1954 with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. He was commissioned in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. Larry was a charter member of Marshall Space Flight Center where he retired in 1996 after 36 years. He was a deacon in the Central Seventh Day Adventist Church. A redeemed son of God, he is asleep till the trumpets sound the return of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Bates Donehoo and his younger brother, Robert “Bob” Donehoo.
Survivors include his children; Kenneth Todd Donehoo and wife Joy, Melody Renee McKeel and husband, Jeff and R. Bruce Donehoo, and wife Angela; grandsons, Brandon M. Todd and wife, Megan and Graydon V. Todd; great granddaughter, Reece Todd; sister Jeanette Brown and husband, Gene; sister-in-law, Carol Donehoo, nieces, Tammy Mullis, Sherri Mangum, Lori Walczuk and Kristie Wood; and nephews, Keith Brown and Gregg Brown.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, May 8 and a funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 9 at Conner Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin, GA. Burial will be in Griffin.
