Larry Dale “D.J.” Elrod, Jr., 44, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at his residence. He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God church and worked as a stone mason.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 18, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. David Kelley and Bro. Kevin Palmer officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 11-2 at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Elrod; two step-children, Amber Spencer and Jarrett Riddle; three grandchildren, Haley, Macie and Katley; his mother, Teresa Wilson; his father, Larry Dale Elrod, Sr.; half-sister, Sheena; half-brothers, Tyler Nelson and Chad Nelson and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Danny Wilson and his grandparents, Bob and Carla Carithers, Bill and Maggie Pearl Elrod and Lucy Elrod.
Pallbearers will be Corey Pruitt, Corey Tate and Davey Pharr.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Deaton Funeral Home.
