Larry Charles Hearn, age 64, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born and reared in the Deanburg Community of Chester County, the son of the late Charles Wenford and Lorine Mosier Hearn. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1966 and began work in the bridge inspection division of the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He entered the U. S. Army in 1968 and proudly served during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded several honors, including the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Combat Medical Badge; Good Conduct Medal; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Air Medal; and Sharpshooter M-14 Award. He was a Specialist 5(T).
He married Amie Nell Jones in 1970 and they made their home at Deanburg. She preceded in death in 1980. He worked for the T.D.O.T. out of the Jackson office until he retired in 2003. He had made his home in Henderson.
He is survived by a grandson, Jeremy Glenn Hearn (Lexington, TN); a daughter Rhonda Farley (Beech Bluff, TN); a step-son, Lawrence McKee (Jackson, TN); a sister, Phyllis Clayton (Henderson, TN); two nieces, Misti Nash (Cordova, TN), and Amy Pulley (Jackson, TN); a nephew, Brad Clayton (Henderson, TN); one great niece and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amie Nell Hearn; his father, Charles Wenford Hearn; his mother Lorine Mosier Hearn; and his son Charles Glenn Hearn.
