Larry Ballentine – Obituary

Memorial service for Larry Ballentine, 73, will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor John H. Ninke and Bernard H. Ansorge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church.

Mr. Ballentine died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at residence. He was born June 22, 1940, in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, to Merle Mitchell Ballentine and Mamie Brunko Ballentine. He was a dedicated and charter member of Christ our Redeemer Lutheran Church and loved his Lord Jesus Christ dearly.

Mr. Ballentine was an Engineer at Boeing Military Airplane Company for nearly 30 years. He was an avid tennis player at Huntsville and Decatur tennis centers and a master gardner. Larry often tutored children in multiple courses as a service to his church community. He was diagnosed with the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s) disease in December of 2011, and continued to fight this disease throughout the remainder of his life. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Cynthia Jo Peebles and husband: Michael Raymond , Huntsville, AL

Dene Myers, Wichita, KS,
Donna Doles, Rio Rancho, NM and
Janice Doxtator, Stevens Point, WI

3 Grandchildren

In lieu of flowers: the family requests that memorial donations be made to the ALS Association or to Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
