larryLarry Baker, 71, entered into rest on Nov. 26, 2016, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, Alabama.

Mr. Baker was born June 2, 1945, in Haleyville, Alabama. Larry attended Haleyville High School. His life was centered around his wife Dot. They were totally in love and devoted to one another. They worked side by side in the restaurant business for many years. Larry was her caregiver until her death in 2015.

Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home, Haleyville, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Brother Greg Beasley and Brother Tim Edwards will officiate. Entombment will follow in Winston Memorial Mausoleum.

Larry is survived by his sons, Eddy Colburn and his wife, Peggy, and Rando Colburn and his wife, Jan; mother, Vernelle Miller; and brother, David Miller and his wife, Beth. He was “PaPa Larry” to four grandchildren, Jason Colburn, Season Crumpton, Zac Colburn, and Caroline Thompson; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Colburn, Paige Colburn, Abbigail Crumpton, Lanie Kate Thompson, and Tate Miller; niece, Katti Lindley; and nephew, Chase Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Doris “Dot” Baker; father, Willard Baker; and grandparents, Irvin and Ella Hicks.
