A funeral service for Larry B. Maze, 73, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00AM at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00PM ~ 8:00PM on Monday, June 10, 2024. Mr. Maze was born on Wednesday, February 14, 1951, to J.B. and Helen Maze. He died on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Larry B. Maze was a loving father and grandfather. He was deeply involved in Bronco restoration throughout his life. Mr. Maze retired after working at Delphi for thirty years as a machine operator. He loved fishing and hunting all his life. Larry loved his kids and grandkids more than ever could be shown or told, and he was very proud to be a part of the Cherokee Nation. Mr. Maze fought a tough fight till the end with ALS. He left this world knowing just how much his family loved him and he loved his family. Mr. Maze was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Opal West and Barbara Maze.
Survivors Include:
Ex-wife: Rose Maze, of Moulton.
Son: Shannon Maze (Jennifer), of Somerville.
Daughter: Angela Johnson, of Moulton.
Three sisters: Linda Motes and Velita Childers, of Hartselle, and Sandra West, of Somerville.
Six Grandchildren: Kodi Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Aubree Maze, Tristan Finch, Dakota Finch, and Greyden Maze.
Pallbearers will be Greyden Maze, Kayla Johnson, Kodi Johnson, Tony Hammock, Justin Orr, and Tristan Finch.
