Larnce B. Davis, Sr. was born on December 18, 1945
in Denmark, TN to the late Earnest Davis, Sr. and
Willie Vernita Vanburen. On Sunday, May 26, 2024
God saw fit to release him from all his pain and suffering.
Larnce confessed his hope in Christ at an early age
and united with Hosley Chapel CME Church. He was a
faithful member of the Male Chorus, the Senior Choir
and the Usher Board until his health failed him.
Larnce received his education in Memphis, TN and
later moved to Gadsden, TN and finished at
Alamo Central High School. Larnce was employed by
Jones Manufacturer in Humboldt, TN for over
35 years until he retired on August 23, 2008.
Larnce leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife,
Mary Davis; two daughters, Shaneka Davis of Humboldt,
TN and Monica (Portia) Davis of Clarksville, TN; two sons,
Charles Wayne Hall and Larnce B. Davis, Jr. both of
Humboldt, TN; two stepsons, Terrence Coleman of Humboldt,
TN and Adrian Cook of Gadsden, TN; one Goddaughter,
Christie Glenn of Humboldt, TN; one Godson, Maurice
“Peterman” Brooks of Humboldt, TN; one aunt, Lovie
Vanburen of Jackson, TN; four brothers, Hosea Davis,
Charles (Mattie) Davis, Danny (Willadine) Wakefield all of
Covington, TN and Willie B. (Laura) Davis of Gadsden, TN;
sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six
sister-in-laws; four brother-in-laws; a host of nieces, neph
ews, cousins and friends.
Larnce was preceded in death by his father and
mother, Earnest Davis, Sr. and Willie Vernita Vanburen;
two brothers, Earnest Davis Jr. and Joe Davis; one daugh
ter, Tammie Blakemore; two sisters, Rosie Mae Pack and
Diane Wakefield.
