Lance Yeager obituary, Sylacauga, AL Lance Yeager peacefully passed away to his heavenly home on January 5, 2025 at the age of 40 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was surrounded by his loving family, who never left his side. He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Yeager, mother, Diane Hood, and two brothers, Dewayne Hood and Mark Hood. He is survived by his wife, Brooke Yeager, son, Benjamin Yeager, brothers, Tracy Hood and Tim Hood, sister, Kim Hood. He is also survived by many other family members who all loved and cherished him dearly. Lance possessed the spirit and determination of a warrior that could never be matched. He endured an extremely long battle with Crohn’s Disease and cirrhosis. He and his wife, Brooke, faced this battle head-on and were both determined to find a way to treat Lance’s diseases so he could live a long, full life alongside his family. Even when his body was ready to give up, Lance’s willpower continued and he fought so hard until the end when Jesus decided to call him home. Family was of the utmost importance to Lance. He and Brooke were blessed with the miracle of a son, Benjamin, and Lance was devoted to spending as much time with him as possible and being the best father and husband he could be. His family brought him immense joy and he treasured every moment with them. Love, devotion and loyalty to family were qualities of great importance to him, and he made sure that Brooke and Benjamin knew the depth of his love for them every single day. Though Lance’s life was all too brief, he lived 1000 years in the 40 years that everyone was blessed to have with him. Anyone who knew him knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He never met a stranger, and his sense of humor and wit always made those around him feel at ease. Lance touched the hearts and lives of so many simply with his warm smile, positive attitude, and laughter. He inspired many who knew him and life was an astounding testimony of strength, love and perseverance. To his family and friends, the world is dimmer, quieter, and there is a deep void and sorrow that his absence brings. However, even in the midst of sorrow, his family and friends rejoice in the blessing it was to be a part of his life and be inspired by his determination. Visitation will be held at Curtis & Son Funeral Home located at 1315 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150 on January 9, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m prior to the funeral service which will begin at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service will be held at Lindsey Cemetery located at County Road 206, Danville, AL 35619. Pallbearers will be Jeff Jones, Parker Jones, Woody Holmes, Jason Kinney, Justin Joiner, Jay Owens, Gregory Moody, Jacob Moody, Joshua Oliver, Cody Hill, Jaydon Hood, and Chad Flannigan
