Lance Edwin Eaton, 79, resident of Tiplersville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 12, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center.

Funeral Services honoring Lance’s life will be at 1 PM Tuesday, July16, 2024 in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Benton County.

Lance was born on July 20, 1944, in Tippah County to the late Basil and Ruth Gullett Eaton.  He lived in Cotton Plant all his life, but in later years, moved to Tiplersville to live with his daughter, Jeannie.  A Baptist, he received his education from Buena Vista School and was known to “piddle” with anything, especially cars.  He loved to watch T.V., listen to old country music, talking to any and everyone he met, and sharing time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories include one daughter, Jeannie (Kim) Luster, one sister, Annie Ruth White, nine grandchildren, Rushawn Luster, Stephaine Simmons, Lezzy (Tavion) Prather, Ryan Eaton, Heidi (Lee) Crayton, Summer Eaton, Richard Winkles, Brian Brooks and Jackie Gray, and four great-grandchildren, Iris and Arya Prather, Honor Luster and Jimmy Eaton, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Hazel Winkles Eaton, his second wife, Barbara Baldwin Eaton, two sons, Jackie and Jimmy Eaton, and one brother, Jimmy Eaton.
