Lady Gaylin M. Brewer Lady Gaylin M. Brewer, 68 of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Monday, June 17th, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. Brewer was born on September 24th, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, to Gilbert McKinley Stay and Vinecene Holden Stay.

Mrs. Brewer is survived her sons Robin Stay (Beth), of Tuscaloosa, Phillip Stay, Holden Runicman (Lisa), of England, and Chris Runicman (Jessica), of Athens; several grandchildren; and brother Bobby Marks (Revena).

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband Larry Brewer.

Our sweet and quirky Gaylin Brewer left this world from complications from breast cancer and chemo treatments. She was proud to be considered “quirky” and sprinkled her daily language with phrases like “toodles” for goodbye, “give me a ringy dingy” for call me, and would often answer the phone with a robust “greetings and salutations!”

Gaylin was a nurse for over 40 years and loved to quilt, sew, crochet, and just about any other craft was worth a try at least once!

Gaylin was a native of Limestone County and was married to Larry Brewer. She had four children and several grandchildren, and loved them dearly.
