L.R. (Dickie) Harris, Jr. passed away on January 7,2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 10 days. He was born on July 28, 1938, in Burnsville, MS to the late L.R. (Doc) Harris, Sr. and Jessie Lucille Kardabin Harris.
On May 25, 1974, he married Carolyn Moore. Sadly, Mrs. Harris preceded him in death on June 13, 2020. Their union lasted over 46 years and was a testament to their unwavering commitment and love.
Mr. Harris served his country honorably in the United States Army and had the privilege of touring Italy and France during his service. Following his military career, he worked diligently as a pipefitter for many years.
Throughout his life, Mr. Harris found joy in various activities such as watching his son Tony engage in drag racing, tending to his yard, working on the ranch, and cherishing moments spent with his sons. He derived immense happiness from helping others and being surrounded by his beloved family.
He is survived by three sons, Randy Kiser and wife Nikki of Corinth, MS, Sammy Kiser and wife Sherry of Selmer, TN, Tony Harris and wife Lee Ann of Corinth, MS; 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn and parents, L.R. (Doc) Harris Sr. and Jessie Lucille Kardabin Harris; Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Christine Celli; a brother, Jessie Ray Harris, as well as his beloved dog, Myer.
L.R. (Dickie) Harris Jr.’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory and the impact he had on the lives of those around him will be forever cherished.
