L.H. (Lou) Keeler, born in Sheffield, AL. 12-25-25, died August 19, 2013. Graduated from Central High School, Florence, AL. In 1943, enlisted in the Army Air Corp and worked for Boeing Air Craft Corp, Wichita, KS., until called to active duty in WWII, 1944. Stationed on Guam as tail gunner on B-29 air craft, with missions over Japan. Discharged from service in 1946. Graduated from National Trade School of Mechanical Drafting, Kansas City, MO. In 1948. Worked with General Electric Corp. 1949 to 1952, on hydro-electric generator projects, with work in Detroit, MI. Between jobs, joined Westinghouse Electric Corp. in 1952, as apprentice engineer. Worked as lead engineer from 1955, primarily in the Southeast, with other jobs at Niagara Falls, NY., Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, California, and Venezuela.
Retired from Westinghouse in 1984, as Senior Erection Engineer on power generating equipment. Worked part time, for the next ten years, as a consultant for various power companies and contractors.
Preceded in death by Father, L.H. Keeler, Sr.; Mother, Eulalia Holiman Keeler; two infant sisters and two infant brothers; Half Sisters, O’rena Patterson, Mrs. J.D. (Toots) Mills; and Half Brother, I.M. (Slick) Keeler.
Survived by: Daughters, Brenda Keeler Murphy, Nita Keeler Thompson, Debbie Keeler Jackson, and Vicki Keeler McCoy; Sons, Tommy Keeler and Danny Keeler; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Cremation will be performed and there will be no services.
