L.D. Rock, 84, died Monday, February 22, 2016 at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born February 8, 1932 to Thurman and Sue Robinson Rock. A self-employed businessman, he was a farmer, carpenter, bull dozier owner and operator, and commericial fisherman during his working days. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Services will be at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship cemetery in Peppertown.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mildred Christian Rock; two sons, Kenneth Rock (Janet) and Mike Rock, both of Saltillo; one daughter-in-law, Pat Rock of Mooreville; five brothers, Walter Rock (Donna), David Rock (Aileen), Junior Rock (Shirley), Roy Rock (Dianne), and Danny Rock; three sisters, Brenda Hoffman (Doug), Patsy King(Bob), Nancy Watson; 11 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Rock and Jackie Rock, and infant brother, Elijah, four sisters, Virginia Christian, Blanch Rock, Emma Ruth Rock, Betty Guyton, and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Rock, Jr., Michael Rock, Dustin Smith, Tanner Gray, and Rusty Cummings.
Visitation will be from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
