Kyle SoloRio – Obituary

Kyle SoloRio, age 54, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Kyle died at home in Van Nuys California, surrounded in peace and love while friends played guitar, music, and sang to her.

Kyle was born October 2, 1959, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to John and Carol SoloRio. She graduated from Clawson High School (Clawson, Michigan) in 1977. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a BA in Art in 1982. During Kyle’s junior and high school years, her love of animals drew her to horseback riding. Over the years, Kyle showed at many Regional hunter and jumper competitions, often placing or winning. Her horses included Castana and D’Artagnon. While at San Francisco State, Kyle entered a short film in the student Academy Awards and won an honorable mention. Kyle is preceded in death by her father, John.We know they are together in Heaven eating ice cream and sending their heart strings to their loved ones. Kyle is also preceded in death by her precious cats, Chernobyl, Cezanne and Tremolo.

Kyle is survived by her family. Her son, Journey Ryland Eduardo SoloRio; her daughter, Shae Brooklyn SoloRio Zwerner; and her partner, Keri Zwerner. Kyle is also survived by her mother, Carol SoloRio of Decatur, Alabama; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Jay SoloRio and his wife Linda of Decatur, Alabama; her sister, Roberta SoloRio of Georgetown, Texas; nieces and nephews, Lexie SoloRio, Rachel SoloRio, Ryan Cook and his wife Ashlie and their children, Peyton and Gracen, Nathan Cook and his wife Heather and their children, Caden, Pierson and Kingston and Stephen Cook. Kyle is also survived by her cat Scrabble Bob and dog Kahlua.

“You were a most stupendous Mommy, daughter, partner, seester, and friend. We will carry you in our hearts forever.”

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at The Angeleno Mortuary, 5948 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys CA 91401.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family via The Angeleno Mortuary.
