Kristopher “Kris” Micheal Lackey, 32, passed away on 1/14/2023 unexpectedly in his home. Kris
was born on August 8, 1990 in Birmingham Alabama to Richard Lackey & Theresa Walker
Lackey.
Kris grew up in Munford where he graduated from Munford High School in 2008. He was an
avid reader, social activist, cherished friend, loyal brother, and terrifying driver.
Preceded in death by: paternal grandparents Lamar & Patricia Lackey, father Richard Lackey,
maternal grandfather George Walker, and uncle William “B” Walker.
Survived by: mother Theresa Walker Rowell, stepfather Rex Rowell, sisters Kendra Lackey and
Rhanda Thomas (Matt), brother Russell Rowell (Lindsey), grandmothers Diane Caudell and
Linda Walker, uncles Joseph Walker (Jennifer), Brian Lackey, Steven Lackey (Lauria), Scotty
Melton (Patricia), Jerry Melton, 11 first cousins, and countless close family & friends.
Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Talladega Alabama on
January 28, 2023 at 11 in the morning. Reception/Celebration of Life to follow in the parish hall.
