Konstantinos “Gus” Kopanas, age 57, of Guntersville, Alabama, passed away on November 11, 2024, at Albertville Health and Rehab. Born on February 7, 1967, in Athens, Greece, Gus was the cherished son of the late Nikolaos and Paraskevi Kopanas.
Gus is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; his sons, Niko Kopanas, George Kopanas, and Chris (Melissa) Kopanas; and his beloved granddaughter, Maria. His chosen son, Nick Addario. He is also survived by his sisters, Metaxia (Kosta) Giannopulos and Angeliki (Larry) Brucato, niece, Nasia (Tony) Danis; great niece, Konatantina Danis and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ioannis (John) Kopanas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, with Father Elias Stevens officiating. The family will welcome friends for visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Gus will be laid to rest in Martling Cemetery.
Pallbearers honoring his life will include Chris Kopanas, Nick Addario, Larry Brucato, Wayne Franks, Paul Franks, and James Strickland.
Gus will be remembered for his warm spirit, devotion to family, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. May his memory be eternal.
