A Visitation to celebrate the life of Mr. Kirby Tim Pace, age 64 of Ashland, will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.

Mr. Pace passed peacefully in his home on October 19, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents RL and Polly Pace, his sister Patty Owens and a granddaughter Hope Maples as well as a bonus daughter Windy Odom.

Tim was known for many years as Monkey and then later as Red Eye. He was hard working from a very young age working at his parent’s feed mill. The majority of his life he worked maintenance in the poultry industry. He believed in hard work but he was always down for a good time. When he did have time off in his younger days, you could find him on the water even one time skiing across flat rock, mud riding with his brother and friends, and riding his motorcycle or around a fire enjoying time with family and friends. As he grew older, he still loved to be on the lake showing his grandkids he still had it, skiing and jumping off robe swings and slinging them off a tube. He loved motorcycles, muscle cars and old 4wd trucks and he loved to travel. No matter how hard he worked throughout his life, he always made sure to be at every Ballet recital, baseball game, and Karate tournament for his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews as much as possible. He believed in family and nothing was ever more important than that. Mr. Pace believed in setting standards and teaching his kids, grandkids and nieces and nephews the difference in right and wrong and the importance of a strong work ethic. He was strong and loving and stubborn. He loved his kids immeasurably but he also loved his nieces and nephews like his own and made it well known. Mr. Pace was always their biggest fan and number one supporter. Marrying Missy Pace in 1996, they had a marriage filled with travel and adventure and of course some pain but most importantly unwavering love. Together they raised a family that he was so very proud of.

Tim leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Missy Pace of Ashland; one brother, Kerry Pace (Susan) of Ashland; one sister, Anita Wesley (Donald) of Decatur; a brother in law he loved dearly, John Owens of Ashland; A daughter, Emily Stanford (Jonathan) of Anniston; two sons: JT Odom (Jessica) of Pell City, AL and Josh Odom (Kati) of Ashland; Nine grandchildren: Kade Strickland, Pacey Strickland (Christina), Madison Watts, Gabe Hancock, Adrian Odom, Zach Odom, Kirby McCollough, Izzy Genthner-Odom and Timmy Odom; one great grandson, Oliver Strickland with another on the way; Plus many adopted kids and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that he loved like his own. His absence will be felt by so many.

The family requests no flowers: however, they would prefer donations be made to the Hospice of Clay County.
