Kimberly Michelle Lane Schaffer, age 61, passed away on September 27, 2024, in Huntsville, AL after a prolonged illness. Born on July 5, 1963 in Florence, AL Kimberly was known for her selfless, caring, and strong nature.
Kim’s life was enriched by her deep love for her family and pets. She is survived by Donald Schaffer, her husband and soulmate of 43 years; parents, Jimmy and Judy Lane; son, Jeremy Schaffer and his wife, Natalie; brothers, Donnie Lane (Kim), Terry Lane, and Chris Lane (Kelli); along with numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws who cherished her deeply.
Kim found immense joy in spending time with both indoor and outdoor animals. She was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and enjoyed watching college football with her husband and son. Her passion for cooking was well known among her loved ones, bringing people together over delicious meals.
A very small and private memorial service will be held to honor Kim’s life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital and The Humane Society of the United States in memory of Kimberly.
