Kim Anderson Smith, 56, was born in Moulton, Alabama and grew up in Dumas, Mississippi as a free spirit. If there were any horses around her as a child she was riding it, bare back and with a grass rope, it never stopped her. She attended Pine Grove High School and later received her GED. Kim lived most of her life in Southaven where she and her late husband Patrick enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. For many years, Kim worked as a pet groomer out of her home, she not only groomed pets but made many lifelong friendships with the pet owners by inviting them inside to council and share Christ. She was always happy and worked hard to make everyone’s day a little brighter, even being referred to as ‘Mary Poppins” at times. Kim also enjoyed tending to her chickens, growing plants and flowers and riding the roads on her Harley that she bought off the showroom floor. After the passing of her partner and later her husband of 27 years, Kim sold her home and recently bought a house and moved back to Dumas. Excited to be back close to her family, she was looking forward to hanging out with family, enjoying birthdays and drinking coffee with her mom. Kim will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Kim leaves behind a multitude of family, her mother, Kathy LaBarreare Tate (Randy), two sisters Karen Shelby and Kelly Busch Heller (Josh), one sister/niece as Kim called her our niecster Ava Tate, three nieces and their families, Morgan Shelby and her children, Shelby and Case Hamblin, Paige and Tyler Henry and their children, Riggins Henry and soon to arrive Anderson (Andi) Reese Henry and the youngest niece Kathryn Shelby, brother in law, Jeff Shelby that stuck by her until the end, her beloved aunts, Sherry Bennett, Vivien Richardson and Yvonne Jeans and her two loyal canines “Dexter and Spencer”.
