Kevin Michael O’Neill, 84 of Huntsville, AL passed away August 22, 2022. Kevin was born in August 1938 in Astoria, NY. He graduated from St. John’s University.
Kevin was actively involved all his life in the Catholic church. His many ministries included Kairos prison ministry, Curiso, RCIA, and the Backpack Children’s program. Kevin was also involved in different prayer groups. He had a great love for his family, traveling, music, was an avid reader, and loved his NY sports teams, and of course Notre Dame football!
As a native New Yorker, he was called to the South, where he lived for the last 40 years, to work for United Technologies.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Sue O’Neill; children, Kevin O’Neill, Liz Wright (Steve), Bill O’Neill (Darcy), and Tracey Hooker (Tim); grandchildren, Adam Dye (Katie), Brandon Dye (Megan), Carson Dye, Jillian Dye, Connor and Delaney O’Neill, and Carley and Aidan Sims. He is also survived by his brothers, Hugh O’Neill of Croton, NY, and Patrick O’Neill (Elenor) of Old Bridge, NJ; and his many nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth O’Neill, and his sister, Patsy Curtain (Jim).
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 26th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. The Eulogy will begin at 11:00 and a Memorial Mass will follow at the church with Father Tim Pfander officiating.
