Kevin James Whorton, age 52, of Sheffield, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, with Miles Stutts officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Kevin was a native of Missouri and was employed by WLAY, where he served as a radio personality for more than 24 years.
He is survived by his son, Jordan Whorton; father, Archie Whorton; mother, Dorothy; brother, Cary Whorton; and sisters, Linda Sisco, Victoria Newman, Jan Burgess, Donna Smith, Reani and Sandra.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family expresses special thanks to the employees of WLAY for all the kindness shown to their family.
