Kerri Harris Clemons, 60, of Arab went home to the arms of our Lord on June 25, 2024, at her residence.
Kerri was preceded in death by her father, Ronald C. Harris of Arab and her father and mother in law, Marlin and Joyce Clemons of Arab.
Mrs. Clemons is survived by her husband of 31 years, Timothy M. Clemons of Arab; her mother, Sara Bailey Harris of Arab; daughter, Haley Victoria Dixon (Zachary) of Huntsville; sisters, Richi Harris Reynolds (Scott) of Scottsboro and Vicki Harris Jones (Mark Holley) of Lake View, AL.; nephews, J.D. Reynolds III and Rob Reynolds of Scottsdale, AZ, Brendan Jones of Talladega; niece, Ayla Jones of Lake View, AL; and her precious cat and constant companion, Winston Lionheart Clemons.
Kerri was born in Huntsville, AL and lived the majority of her life in Arab. She attended the Arab City Schools and was a 1982 graduate of Arab High School. She was a member of the Arab High School Marching Band and served as Head Majorette. Kerri was also named Miss Arab High School in 1982.
After a brief attendance at Snead State Junior College, where she served as a Parsonette, Kerri enrolled at Auburn University where she completed her studies and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Child Development, also receiving Dean’s List recognition.
Kerri began her professional career as a manager of several Child Development Centers in the Huntsville area. In 1993, she transitioned into another leadership role as Social Worker for the State of Alabama Marshall County Department of Human Resources in Guntersville. Kerri retired from this role in 2011.
Kerri Harris Clemons was loved and adored by all those that knew her. She was a guiding light in the lives of so many and she lived her life to bring joy to those around her. This was especially true regarding the center of her world, her daughter, Haley, and her dedicated and devoted husband, Tim. She loved our God, His Son Jesus Christ and knew His word exceptionally well.
Kerri, Tim, Haley and Zach are also members of Willowbrook Baptist Church in Huntsville.
Services will take place Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Public Visitation will be held 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Memorial Service begins at 2:00 pm. Dr. Paul Murphy will be officiating. Mr. Mark Smith will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will take place afterwards at Arab Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Reynolds, Mark Holley, Zachary Dixon, J. D. Reynolds, Rob Reynolds, and Brendan Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Womack, Dwain Elder, Alan Miller and Joseph Clark, MD.
