Mr. Kilgo, 73, of Crane Hill, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024. He was surrounded by his family who adored him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. Kermit was a hard-working man who loved his family fiercely. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a friend to all who knew him. He was a man devoted to God, his family, and who always put others first. We know Heaven is sweeter with him there.

Kermit Clelie Kilgo was born on July 26, 1951, to James Clelie and Vergie Avelyn Kilgo. He was preceded in death by his loving parents; brother, Harry James Kilgo, great granddaughter, Joey Ann Henderson; and siblings-in-law, Glenn (Mary) Bookout, Raymond Campbell and Ella-Mae Sanders.

He leaves behind, his loving wife of 54 years, Martha Kilgo; his children, Craig Kilgo, Karen (Brad) Henderson, Kathy (Brad) Gorham, and Lori (Josh) Warden; grandchildren, Noah (Rilee) Henderson, Kadie (Chris) Brown, Trent (Sadey) Gorham, Georgia Gorham, Mary Warden and Jude Johnson, Abby Warden, Saddler Kilgo, Sutherlynn Kilgo; great grandson, Shepherd Bradley Henderson; sister, Sarah (James) Basinger; in-laws he loved like siblings, Charlie (Rita) Harbison, Jimbuck (Peggy) Harbison, Stewart Sanders, Wynona Campbell and Rita Kilgo; and a host of nieces and nephews who he loved very much.

Although we will miss him deeply, we take comfort knowing his last breath on Earth was followed by his first breath in Heaven. Because of Jesus Christ, we have hope and look forward to the day we meet again and never part.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Bookout, Darrin Calvert, Jason Harbison, Jimmy Harbison, Wesley Harbison and Shane Kilgo. Honorary pallbearer will be Glenn Calvert.
