Kenton Scott (Scotty) Gaines, 56, of Anniston, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at UAB Hospital, surrounded by family. He is survived by his son Matt Gaines (Jessica), and daughter Tayler Drummond (Heath); five grandchildren: Cayden Gaines, Karlee Gaines, Maddox Drummond, Jase Drummond, and Jax Drummond; His mother, Marie Gaines; brother Chris Gaines and sister Michelle Gaines; Nephews Devyn Gaines and Jaden Gaines, and niece Casey Hays; several cousins and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ken Gaines; Grandparents Louie and Eura Thornton; Howard Gaines; Mildred Tallarida, and several special aunts and uncles.
Scotty was a roofer by trade and a very talented guitar and piano player.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the Cardiac and Medical ICU nurses at UAB and also to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for helping him transition into his Heavenly home. Also, thank you so much for the kindness and compassion shown to our family during this difficult time.
