Kenneth Webster Harris, Sr., 83, also known as “Speedy”, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at his home.

Services honoring Mr. Harris’ life will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Charlie Ganey officiating.  Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care.  Burial will follow in Amaziah Cemetery.

Mr. Harris was born March 22, 1941, in New Albany, MS to the late Roy Lee and Deta May James Harris.  He attended Macedonia School and was the beloved widow of Mrs. Mary Ann Hughes Harris.  A valued employee of American Fabrication Engineering, Mr. Harris worked in the metal trades department for nineteen years until his retirement.

A Christian and member of the Church of Acts in New Albany, Mr. Harris loved playing music, especially the organ, singing and attending his church.  His favorite past times included storytelling, which he was very good at, repairing small engines and washing machines, and fishing.  A family man and devoted caretaker, Mr. Harris’ dedication to those he loved was clear to see and he will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish her memories include one son, Kenneth Webster Harris, Jr. (Tabitha) of Myrtle, four sisters, Vattie Mayfield of Meridian, MS, Maggie Berry of Pontotoc, Peggy Moody and Jean Lewis both of Myrtle, and four grandchildren, which includes C.D. Harris.

He is preceded in death by his wife, one son, Anthony Harris, one sister, Frances Little and two brothers, Roy Leon and John Delma Harris.
