Kenneth Wayne McKinnon, age 63, formerly of Florence, passed away Wednesday January 2, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Agnes McKinnon. Kenneth was a fighter pilot while serving in the United States Air Force 1979-1988. He retired from FedEx after 25 years of service, where he was also a pilot. Kenneth was a hands on supporter of Village of Hope mission work in Ghana and made several trips to offer aid.
He is survived by his wife, Jerri McKinnon; children, Brad, Scott, Anna and Courtney McKinnon; stepchildren, Scottie and Anthony Durham; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Carol Yvonne Tucker and Cynthia Ann Huggins; brother, Michael McKinnon; and uncle, James A. McKinnon.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday January 12th in the chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville, with memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. with Reverend Edward Ball officiating.
