Funeral service for Kenneth Wayne Kent, 73, will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM at New Center Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Bates and Bro. Royce Teague officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church.
Mr. Kent passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at his residence. He was born April 21, 1951, in Morgan County, to James Russell Kent and Esther Hall Kent, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Kent was a Southern Baptist in his faith. He was employed by Decatur Utilities for 34 years, as a Field Service Rep, prior to his retirement. Mr. Kent loved working on lawnmowers, woodworking, working with his hands, fishing and spending time with his family.
He treasured his family, his wife: Kathy Kent, his sons: Kevin Kent (Lisa), and Rodney Kent (Morgan, his grandchildren: MaKenna and Cameron Kent) and his beloved dog: Jewel, who are left behind to remember him fondly.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Kent, Cameron Kent, Nick Iddins and Jacob Bates.
