Kenneth Wade “Lightening” Wales, 83, of Elkmont, Alabama passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 in Athens, Alabama. He was born Monday, January 22, 1940 to Joseph “Leon” Wales and Deola Bryant Wales in Limestone County, Alabama.
Kenneth has lived in the area all of his life was a member of Community Independent Church. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Wade Wales; brothers, Howard “Pete” Wales, Robert Wales, David Wales, Louis Wales, and Aaron Wales; sisters, Patsy Darlene Wales Gates and Estelle Wales Black.
He is survived by his brothers, Charles (Mary) Wales, Doug (Jessie) Wales, Larry (May) Wales, and Jackie (Mickie) Wales; sister, Ella Louise “Sis” (Tommy) Lewter; grandsons, Jonathan Wade Wales and Joshua Andrew Wales; special friend, Judy McKnight along with Tim McKnight and Jamie McKnight; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends along with his companion “Peanut”.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL. A Graveside Service will follow at 4:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL with Bro. Spencer Hardiman officiating.
