Kenneth “Shorty” Wayne Maddox, 82, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away at his home, Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born Friday, June 21, 1940 to William Carl Maddox and Mary Lou Watkins Maddox.
He has lived here all his life. He was a lifetime drag racer and loved going on cruises.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Shirley Ann Maddox; brothers, Babe Maddox and Royce Maddox; and nephew, Junior Maddox.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Maddox; son, Ken Maddox, Jr. (Kimberly); daughter, Tracey Michelle Maddox; brother, Doyce Carl Maddox, sister, Joyce “Eloise” Maddox; grandchildren, Kandace and Matt Maddox; step-son, Donnie (Mona) Pylant and step-granddaughter, Alexa Pylant.
Visitation will be Friday, January 27, 2023 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Doug Colwell officiating. Burial will follow in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be James Shannon, Mike Ratley, David Posey, Dale Edwards, Kenneth Young and Teddy Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Freeman and Joel Ratley.
