Funeral services for Kenneth Ray Lambert, 73, of Trinity, was Monday, May 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Moulton with Reverand Steve Agee, Reverand Neil Carter and Reverand Ronald Manly officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Lambert died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Houston, Texas, where he lost his battle with leukemia. He was born on December 5, 1939, in Courtland to Floyd and Louvinia Lambert. He graduated from Hazlewood High School in 1958, and attended Calhoun Community College and the University of North Alabama. After working a few years at Worthington Corporation, Mr. Lambert began his career as a draftsman at Chemstrand/Monsanto and retired from Solutia as a drafting supervisor after 35 years. He then devoted full-time to his own business, K.R. Lambert Construction, Inc., which he had started ten years earlier.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Sapp Lambert; his children, Laurie Montgomery and husband, Andy, Moulton, and Jared Lambert, Tampa, Florida; grandson, Robert Montgomery and wife Sara, Moulton; great-grandson, Jimmie Ray Montgomery, Moulton; one brother, Billy Joe Lambert and wife, Brenda, Courtland; one sister, Syble Sims, Hatton; stepmother, Jeaner Lambert, Moulton; stepbrothers, C.J. Dutton and Danny Dutton and wife, Cathy, both of Moulton; and stepsister, Sandra Calvert and husband, Allen, Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Billy Bankston, Scotty Brackin, Wayne Frost, Robert Hester, Thomas Hill, Bobby McGlocklin, Guinn Sparks and Ervin Terry. Honorary pallbearers were the men of the 2012 Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Oklahoma Mission Trip.
