Kenneth Ray Gant – Obituary

kennethKenneth Ray Gant, 76, of Rogersville died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his residence.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 – 3 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with funeral service to follow in the chapel with Ian Butler officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery.
Mr. Gant was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Elgin United Methodist Church and retired from Rohm & Haas after 30 years as a union leadership for Local #88.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erskin & Elizabeth Gant; brothers, Lester, Sam and Jeff Gant; first wife, Barbara DeWees Gant; granddaughter, Melissa Clark and daughter, Cynthia Gant. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Herston Stacey Gant; Daughters, Pamela Zalot, Barbara Hunt and Laura (Mark) Thompson; son, Kenneth (Nellie) Gant, Jr.; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and brothers, Otis and Eugene Gant.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Gentiva Hospice or to Elgin United Methodist Church Fund.
