Kenneth Leon Steele, 86, of Moulton died Thursday, November 8, 2018, at his home. He was born December 28, 1931, in Decatur to Henry and Eula Steele.
Mr. Steele served 21 years in the Air Force, was a Korean War veteran and a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal. He retired to Moulton with his family working for General Motors. Mr. Steele was a lifelong horseman and owned KS’s Pony Farm, where he raised Champion Pony of the Americas. He was elected to the National Board of Directors, serving 21 years. He chaired National POAC events, served on committees, and was president of the Tennessee and Alabama chapters of the POA club. Mr. Steele was inducted into the POAC Hall of Fame in 1994, and is the number one breeder of International and Supreme Champion POA’s.
Survivors include his son, Ken “Chip” and wife Lisa of Moulton; grandsons, Brad and Scott Steele, wife Kaitlin; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Kait; daughter, Lydia Gove of Mouton; brother, Trillmon Steele and wife Carolyn; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews and dear friends across the country.

Pallbearers will be David Goodlett, Ed Spivey, Steve Hall, Phillip Porter, Steve Hampton and Keith Fagan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton LouAllen, Hunter Hood, Richard Corn, Todd Corn, Shane Corn and Leo Haack.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations and memorials be made to the Gideons of Lawrence County, P.O. Box 135, Moulton, Alabama.
Visitation service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, AL Hwy. 33, Moulton on Saturday, November 10th from noon to 2 p.m. with service at 2 p.m. Randy Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.Elliott Brown-Service Funeral Home is directing.
