Mr. Kenneth Hughes, age 66, passed away on June 4th, 2023 at Lineville Health and Rehab. A memorial will be held at a later date.
Mr. Hughes was a lifelong resident of Clay County. He was a log truck driver for most of his life, first working at Williamson Lumber Company, and then also working for Graben, Nelson and R.K. McDonald trucking. In his spare time he loved tinkering and working on small engines. Mr. Hughes was also known to be an avid Alabama football fan.
Mr. Hughes is survived by, his sister in law, Minnie Hughes; his nieces Melinda Wolfe (Terry), Lenstine Lambert (Tracy), Tammy Creed, Sherry Cerrato (Hubert Mitchell); his nephew, Bodie Gortney (Patricia); a stepdaughter, Judy Nelson (Johnny); a stepson, Phillip Pinkard (Amy); 8 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; and several great nieces and nephews; plus a large extended family.
Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his spouse, Mary Ann Jones; his parents, Woodrow Hughes and Nellie Mitchell Hughes; two sisters, Geraldine Hughes and Glenda Gortney; two brothers, Eric Hughes and Jerry Hughes.
