Kenneth Franklin Smith, son of the late Leroy and Lora Smith, was born at home in McNairy on April 28, 1947.  He was united in marriage to Marilyn Virginia Willcutt Smith for 47 years.

Kenneth was an Army veteran of the Vietnam era.  Stationed in Germany, he spent most of his time there running security.  Kenneth was a Master gardener, providing some of the most impressive vegetables, tomatoes, and muscadines in the area.  All compliments to his wife, Marilyn’s beautiful collection of Elephant Ears, In’s, and many exotic flowers. During the later hours of the day, he could be found in his recliner, relaxing to the sounds of a western on the TV and eating a moonpie.

Mr. Smith departed this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.  He is survived by a daughter, Lois Smith Cooper; a son, Stephen Smith; a sister, Bessie Williams; 4 grandchildren, Michael Edwards, Kristie Edwards, Ronnie Robertson, Jr., and Eric Robertson; 12 great grandchildren, Alexi, Auron, Alice, Aeson, and Anakin Edwards, Naydine Kiestler, Kiara Runyon, Bella and Charlie Russom, Nikolai, Ganon, and Lilith Robertson.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
