Kenneth E. Wampner – Obituary

Kenneth E. Wampner, 68, died April 3, 2017 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, surrounded by family.  Kenny was born April 23, 1948 to Mahlon and Iona Baldwin Wampner in Beech Grove, Indiana.  He joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He was a meteorological technician for the National Weather Service for 33 years. In his free time, he also was a taxidermist and especially enjoyed painting fish. Kenny enjoyed fishing especially in Alaska. Kenny and his wife are members of St. James Catholic Church. He was a wonderful cook who loved cooking for his family and friends. He was a loving husband and father.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Judy Wampner; two children, Dawn Bean (Bobby) of Nettleton and Heather Davis (Mike) of Blue Springs; three grandchildren, Tyler Bean, Haley Bean and Will Bacon; great- granddaughter, Jaylee Seidl; mother, Iona Wampner of Missouri;  one brother, Jerry Wampner (Cindy) of Missouri  and one sister, Terry Featherstone of Indiana.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday April 23, 2017 at the Locust Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Bro. David Ross officiating.
