Kenneth Drew Grizzell, age 60, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Bowling Green, KY. Kenneth was raised in Winchester, TN and a graduate of Franklin County High School (81) and David Lipscomb College (84). During his time there he was introduced to his wife through a bible professor, Dr. Marlin Connelly.
Over the past 4 decades, Kenneth ministered to congregations in 6 states (Ohio, California, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee) with his last 8 years spent serving as the lead minister of the Greenwood Park Church of Christ in Bowling Green, KY. He has spent his years in pursuit of building unity in the body of Christ, encouraging people to have a personal walk with the Lord and to trust in His amazing grace. His desire to bring people into a relationship with the Lord led him to develop his Project 51 reading plan which has led many to spend time in the Word everyday, allowing God to speak through it. He promoted unity in the body of Christ by calling the Kingdom to pray for the persecuted church through WePray40. He sought God’s justice through his racial reconciliation efforts aimed at knocking down generational walls and strongholds separating God’s people. He served on countless boards, advisory boards, and ministry teams. He spent most of his ministry career on his knees in prayer alongside his wife interceding for others.
He impacted young and old, leaving a legacy of faith. On his last day on earth his sermon was anointed by the Spirit as he mentioned the only thing that matters is hearing his Creator say “Well done my good and faithful servant.” He loved Jesus, people, and sports. He pursued a life of excellence and intentionality. He was a best friend to all. He was the best husband, father, and Papa G.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Lincoln Grizzell, children Summer (Ryan) Bush, Isaac (Jordan) Grizzell, Amelia (Clay) Lewis; 8 granddaughters; Sadie, Emma, June, and Laurel Bush; Rylee & Madi Grizzell (Lenna on the way); and Ensley Lewis. He is also survived by his 3 siblings, Dwight Grizzell, Freda Clifton, and Ricky Grizzell.
He is preceded in death by his father, Isaac Grizzell, his mother, Laurel Golden Grizzell, and his sister Penny Schadegg.
He will be remembered sipping coffee under a low light long before the sun came up each morning studying, writing his gratitudes, and praying with his wife.
